Our latest Lancashire Pre Wedding Shoot at Beacon Fell took place on a bright, warm but windy day. Amy and Jonathan are self-described ‘outdoors people’ and spend most of their time running their stables outside Manchester. We met up at the Information Centre for a chat before the long walk up the hill. Again, desperately out of breath I ran through some ‘warm-up’ shots. Usually, these images are deleted as it takes a few minutes for a couple to relax in front of the camera. Not with Amy & Jonathan! The image below is the first image I shot on the day.
Posing in the forest before the wind really started.
This clearing provided a great opportunity for Amy & Jonathan to take a break from our wander whilst I set up some off-camera flash to drop just a little extra light on them.
Up at the summit, we paused to look out over the beautiful Fylde Coast.
Around this point I returned to my usual form and took a lie down on the wet ground. I love getting different angles and shooting through the vegetation and if that means getting wet and soggy so be it.
During our walk we had plenty of time to chat about their upcoming wedding and plans, we discussed who would be doing what, when and how. We also got past the first major hurdle of getting great wedding photographs, we got to know each other and they got comfortable being in front of the camera. With this out of the way, Amy & Jonathan’s wedding day will flow much easier for all of us.
So after hearing all about Amy & Jonathans Wedding Day plans I am super excited! It’s a shame the horses won’t be joining us but we can get that shot another time!

It’s my annual website overhaul time again! I last gave the site a facelift in June 2016 and it looked quite nice (at the time). However time rolls on and it was looking a bit sad, neglected and dated. So I spent a few days hunting around, stalking other photographers and stealing ideas and I finally […]
Your Bridal Prep I cannot tell you the amount of times I have heard “I don’t want Bridal Prep”, or “I don’t want my photograph taken without any make-up on”. I simply cannot stress enough the importance of Bridal Prep. Bridal Prep acts as the prologue to your story that unfolds throughout your day. It […]
